Miami Magazine presents "Splashion" at LIV Nightlcub to kick-off Swim Week in Miami!

Miami is officially getting sexier by the minute! Swim Week has arrived my Sazoneros and I'm so excited to bring you all of the highlights from the shows I'll be attending. Last night, Miami Magazine hosted their fourth annual Splashion event at LIV Nightclub inside the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach. This gnarly beach themed fashion show featured swimwear collections by BECCA by Rebecca Virtue, Betsey Johnson, Jag, Jantzen, Perry Ellis, Masquenada and La Martina [to name a few]. Guests enjoyed Cointreau cocktails and Voga Italia Wines while indulging in complimentary beauty demonstrations by Elemis Spa and Rik Rak Salon. This was definitely the place to be seen last night so make sure you check out the video I added to this post if you missed it!

DJ Irie (pictured above) was bringing his hottest beach beats to Splashion last night! I love running into him in Miami because he's always happy and making everyone dance to his music. In case you missed him during Irie Weekend, make sure you check out his recently launched Irie Foundation.

Miami Socialite and Philanthropist, Norma Quintero (pictured above second from the right), attended Splashion with her friends.

My fabulous friend Damaris Aquiar (pictured above second from the left) attended Splashion with her friends as well. Damaris is the reining Miss Carnaval Miami 2011. Overall, it was a wonderful evening with friends, music and swimwear! Hope you enjoy my video clip from last night's grand finale. Are you ready for SWIM WEEK?

The Go Red For Women Miami Red Dress Fashion Show at the Bass Museum of Art in Miami Beach

On Thursday, October 21st, the American Heart Association presented its annual Go Red For Women Red Dress Fashion Show at the Bass Museum of Art during Miami’s Fall Fashion Week. Symbolizing women’s fight against heart disease, the Red Dress is the icon of this international show. Perry Ellis International was one of the major sponsors of the event who showcased a variety of looks from their 2010 Fall Collections (including brands like Perry Ellis, Cubavera, Original Penguin, Laundry by Shelli Segal, C&C California and Jantzen Swimwear). The fashion show was hosted by Telemundo’s Acceso Total Anchor Mariana Rodriguez (pictured above on the left) along with Paulo Quevedo (Actor and model). During the fashion show, I spotted CBS4 Weather Anchor Lissette Gonzalez as she modeled a fabulous red gown by Laundry on the catwalk (pictured above on the right). Here are my photos from the night:

Miami's most prominent supporters and survivors of heart disease definitely came together for an amazing evening of fashion and heart awareness. Did you know that heart disease is the #1 killer of women in the U.S., followed by stroke at #3? These statistics are of particular urgency to Hispanic women, as heart disease tends to occur in Hispanic women about 10 years earlier than average women. It's time to educate yourselves and learn about this preventable disease. For more information on the Go Red For Women movement, log on to www.heart.org/MiamiFLGoRed.

Top: I had the pleasure of meeting Perry Ellis International's CEO and Chairman, George Feldenkreis (middle). Feldenkreis is also the founder of the Universal National Bank of Miami and is on the board of the University of Miami and the Simon Wiesenthal Center.

Jessica is a former Miss Florida USA titleholder (2008) who is also Beach Bunny Swimwear's 2010 Model. Check out her pictures on the Beach Bunny website!!!

Lissette kicked off the fashion show with her amazing energy and style! To learn about this talented Miami native, visit her website!

For those who may not know, the American Heart Association is the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary health organization dedicated to building healthier lives, free of heart disease and stroke. Become a part of the movement and help save the women you love by spreading heart awareness.
