Donald and Lisa Pliner debut their Fall Collection to benefit the Children's Home Society of Florida

It's getting closer and closer to my favorite holidays- Thanksgiving and Christmas! That means there will be plenty of shopping events in the next couple of weeks. This past Saturday, renowned designers and leaders in the footwear and accessories industry, Donald J Pliner and wife Lisa Pliner showcased their Fall Footwear Collection at Village of Merrick Park to benefit the Children’s Home Society of Florida. Continuing to impress men and women with their innovative designs, high style and unprecedented comfort, Donald and Lisa provided shoppers with the latest trends while giving back to the Florida community. During the event, guests enjoyed Hor D'hoeuvres from Prime Italian. Best of all: 10% of the proceeds benefited the Children's Home Society of Florida, a charity that empowers families to safely care for children and provide for youth throughout the state. Ed Hardy brings an eclectic and edgy mix to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim 2011

On Friday, July 16th, designer Christian Audigier presented his new Ed Hardy collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim at The Raleigh Hotel in South Beach. Ed Hardy maintained its tattoo edge with a stellar line-up of funky art patterns and neon colors. Models were adorned with extravagant feathered hair pieces to complete each swimwear look. There were many new tie-dye combinations with shades of lime, mango, hot pink and blues on the catwalk which added a nice tropical flare to the 2011 collection. During the show, the DJ played the hottest hip-hop songs to heighten the show's edgy theme. It was a very fun show to watch!!! Did I mention Snoop Dogg's oldest son, Corde Broadus, and Chris Brown's girlfriend, Jasmine Sanders, modeled at the show?

Top: I LOVED this last swimwear ensemble at the show. It was a simple black bikini but it had an amazing long chainlink to add an extra touch of elegance. This totally works for South Beach!

Trina Turk debuts her 2011 Swim & Spa Collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim

This year's Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim officially kicked off with Los Angeles-based designer Trina Turk as her models rocked the runway with Turk's glamorous style! On Thursday, July 15th, Trina Turk's fashion show was held inside Cabaña Grande at The Raleigh Hotel in South Beach. Talk about a full house! Everyone in Miami arrived in style to check out the next level of swimwear which Trina Turk certainly delivered. The front row shined with celebrities like Lisa Pliner, wife of Donald Pliner, (pictured on the right with Silvia Goldenthal), Angela Simmons and Bow Wow. This was the designer's first appearance at the annual swimwear event. Most of the swimwear reflected a laid-back, Palm Springs lifestyle, including color palettes of orange, fuchsia, turquoise, pink and deep violet. The Trina Turk Swim & Spa 2011 Collection, "Acapulco Gold," was inspired by the opulence of the Mexican world-class resort. The collection included an exotic mix of vibrant colors and sexy designs. Throughout the show, Turk impressed her audience by accessorizing her models with over-sized straw beach hats to complete their runway looks. This was my favorite highlight from the show and I get the feeling I'll be seeing those hats on South Beach pretty soon!

The fashion show also featured Mr. Turk Menswear, classic American resort wear reworked with Turks signature prints and bold colors.

Basketball Wives' Evelyn Lozada Celebrates Dulce Shoe Boutique's First Anniversary!

To my shoe fanatics: Dulce Shoe Boutique in Coral Gables is the new shoe spot! On Thursday, May 6th, boutique owners, Evelyn Lozada and Rebecca Brothers, hosted Dulce's One Year Anniversary bash at 286 Miracle Mile. Shoenista and Reality TV Personality, Evelyn Lozada, mingled with guests as she showcased her latest collection of fabulous shoes. Evelyn's daughter Shaniece (pictured above) was in attendance along with some of her closest friends: Cynthia Rodriguez (A-Rod's ex-wife) and socialite, Lisa Pliner. For those who are addicted to watching Basketball Wives on VH1 (like myself), you'll be happy to know that some of the cast members were in Miami for the celebration. Throughout the night, Evelyn wore three of her favorite pair of shoes. Check out Beyonce (left) wearing one of the newest ankle boots carried by the boutique. This place is HOT!
