She has one younger brother named Jansen Panettiere, who is also an actor. She attended the South Orangetown Middle School in New York till her seventh grade, after which she was given home tuition to complete her high school studies. Although she is interested in continuing her education, she has postponed the same for the time in order to pursue her acting career. She has various hobbies which include singing, dancing, horseback riding, gymnastics, karate, playing piano, boxing and swimming. In 2006, Hayden dated former Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County, star, Stephen Colletti but later broke up with him in September 2007. Leslie came to qualified importance at the age of eleven with her depiction of Sheryl Yoast in Disney's Remember the Titans, though for half of her life right away before that, she had held roles in two soap operas. She depicted Sarah Roberts on One Life to Live from 1994-1997, and Lizzie Spaulding on Guiding Light from 1996-2000. Panettiere attained a wider spectator with her starring role as cheerleader Claire Bennet on the NBC TV series Heroes.
