Jane Lynch Chosen as the Emmys Host

Jane Lynch has officially been announced as the Emmys host.

The Glee star Lynch has won Emmy and she will lead this year’s telecast of Emmy Awards which is scheduled to air on Sunday, Sept. 18 on Fox from L.A. Live’s Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.

John Shaffner, the chairman and CEO of Academy of Television Arts and Sciences said, “We’re delighted to have Jane Lynch host the Primetime Emmys this year. When our host has comedic, dramatic and musical talents – as Jane proved in last year’s opening number – we know it’s going to be fun for us and for the audience at home!”

Mark Burnett, who is holding the position of executive producer of Emmys for the first time said, “Jane was my first – and only – choice as the host for this year’s Primetime Emmys, and I am glad she said ‘yes.’ She has incredible comedic timing, and is a charismatic, talented actress whose energy leaps off the screen and stage. I am thrilled and excited to have her as our host.”

Lynch won her Emmy for the category of best supporting actress last year for the role of a cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester that she played on Glee.

Recently, Lynch hosted NBC’s late-night sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live.

Lynch was also nominated for an Emmy for her guest appearance in CBS’ Two and a Half men. She also won the Golden Globe earlier this year for her role as a supporting actress on Glee.
